“With Stranger Than Heaven, by fully leveraging the PS5’s capabilities we were able to showcase more characters on screen simultaneously than ever before and raise character quality to the next level.”
IGN’s Michael Higham, despite some hesitations about the inclusion of a digital Tupac Shakur, praised the game in a recent preview. With its release approaching in January 2027, Sakamoto expressed confidence in the game’s progress and its distinctive visual style.
“I think we succeeded in achieving our goal of creating a richer visual experience with a stronger artistic identity than anything we’ve done prior.”
Sakamoto also revealed that “Stranger Than Heaven” will feature in-game cheats, adding another layer of engagement for players. The game is slated for a January 15, 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
