Thieves Stole Nvidia Trucks, But Just Ended Up With 20 Tons of Sand

“The most expensive part of the setup – the tech-equipped trucks themselves – were parked inside the warehouse, and were left alone.”

While the trailers were retrieved, the tech-laden trucks, which were significantly more valuable, remained untouched inside the warehouse. This incident highlights the increasing trend of thefts targeting high-tech equipment. According to Verisk CargoNet’s Q2 2026 report, organized groups are increasingly targeting enterprise-grade computer hardware, exploiting the disparity between these items’ high value and their standard shipping methods.

“These thefts probably aren’t helping with the cost of hardware. RAM prices have continued to climb since the start of 2026.”

The thefts exacerbate the already strained hardware market, with RAM and Nvidia graphics card prices continuing to surge. Jackie Thomas, IGN’s Senior Tech Editor, notes that no new Nvidia graphics cards are expected soon, adding further pressure to the market. Follow her insights on Twitter at @Jackiecobra.
