QSSR adds more pixel-level clarity and stability to our environments, bringing out extra detail amidst the busy streets of Madripoor, the dense alleyways of Shinjuku, and many other areas across Logan’s epic journey.

Sony’s blog post included video comparisons showcasing QSSR’s impact. In Marvel’s Wolverine, distant buildings retain more detail despite some blurriness. In Ghost of Yotei, the foliage appears more defined, though slight noise persists. These improvements demonstrate QSSR’s ability to enhance visual fidelity on the base PS5.

While the PS5 Pro’s upscaling remains superior, its hefty price tag of $900 makes QSSR a more accessible option for many gamers. Sony plans to make QSSR available to all developers, potentially broadening its use across future titles. This aligns with the company’s goal to bring high-quality gaming experiences to a wider audience.

At Sucker Punch, we’re excited to bring QSSR to Ghost of Yōtei players so that they can experience the world we’ve created with even more clarity and detail.

The initial rollout of QSSR in Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei is set for today, allowing players to experience these enhancements firsthand. As this technology becomes more widespread, it could serve as a bridge for gamers who may not afford the next-generation PlayStation 6 immediately.
