“The story begins in 1943, with Bud and Lou serving in the Army,” Aquilone reveals. “While on leave, the duo accidentally stumble through an experimental portal that sends them traveling through time.”
Aquilone adds that the comic starts in black and white as a nod to classic Abbott and Costello films. It transitions to color when the characters arrive in 1972 Las Vegas, where they join the events of the original Kolchak: The Night Stalker. There, they encounter reporter Carl Kolchak and vampire Janos Skorzeny, promising a thrilling mix of comedy and horror.
“It’s a fun mix of classic comedy and horror, and we can’t wait to see how Bud and Lou handle Kolchak, a vampire, and everything else we throw at them,” Aquilone says.
Other notable crossovers this year include Judge Dredd/Biker Mice From Mars and G.I. Joe/Tomb Raider, with the colossal Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles also making waves. Keep up with these exciting developments by following IGN staff writer Jesse Schedeen on BlueSky.
