This incident highlights the increasing trend of thefts targeting high-tech equipment. According to Verisk CargoNet’s Q2 2026 report, organized groups are increasingly targeting enterprise-grade computer hardware, exploiting the disparity between these items’ high value and their standard shipping methods.

The thefts exacerbate the already strained hardware market, with RAM and Nvidia graphics card prices continuing to surge.
