“No more Star Wars for me,” Driver declared, signaling a conclusion to his involvement.
Even though fans have campaigned for the film’s revival, Driver feels “the ship has sailed.” This sentiment aligns with Lucasfilm’s Dave Filoni, who confirmed earlier this year that the project is not in active development. Despite fan discontent, Disney appears uninterested in pursuing the film, potentially seeking distance from the sequel trilogy’s mixed reception.
Disney is currently shifting focus to *Star Wars Episode 10*, with Jon Watts, known for *Spider-Man: No Way Home*, directing. It remains uncertain if characters like Rey or Finn will return or if Disney plans to pivot away from past narratives.
Meanwhile, Soderbergh has moved on, aiding in the final production phase of *The Batman Part 2*. He stepped in for Matt Reeves, temporarily leaving the project for personal reasons. Soderbergh has shown little interest in revisiting *The Hunt for Ben Solo*, stating that if it were meant to happen, it would have already.
“The ship has sailed,” Driver noted, reflecting on the unlikely revival of the canceled film.
