Michael Nicolls, Starlink’s Senior Vice President, asserts, “Phone calls shouldn’t still be dropping in this day and age, whether you’re at home or on the go.”
Last month, SpaceX acquired an 800MHz spectrum to enhance indoor coverage, as T-Mobile’s CEO dismissed the idea of SpaceX using its network. A recent report also suggested that SpaceX might purchase Boost Mobile from EchoStar to expedite its transition into a comprehensive telecommunications provider.
Nicolls emphasizes, “Starlink is building the first fully-integrated nationwide satellite and terrestrial network.”
This collaboration with Qualcomm is expected to accelerate SpaceX’s timeline for developing its end-to-end base station architecture, marking a significant advancement in its telecommunications aspirations.
