“In teleconverted mode, the phone only captures images in 12.6MP resolution. At 10x zoom they are super sharp, and detail looks really nice.”
The minimum focusing distance is around 116cm from the phone, allowing for tightly framed close-ups with good subject separation. While this is beneficial for portraiture, the 230mm focal length can be too long, and busy backgrounds remain cluttered.
At 20x zoom, the teleconverter maintains considerable sharpness, particularly with linear subjects, though random details may appear less defined. The 40x zoom results remain usable, an impressive feat given the 920mm equivalent focal length.
“In the dark, the teleconverter will serve you equally well, bringing distant subjects closer significantly better than what the phone can do on its own.”
Low-light performance is commendable, with the teleconverter effectively enhancing details that the phone’s native capabilities cannot. The 20x and 40x zoom levels produce detailed images with restrained processing, even in challenging lighting.
The competition between Oppo and Vivo in teleconverter technology is fierce. While Vivo offers more versatile lenses with simpler attachments and better software, Oppo’s optical quality is comparable. Ultimately, the Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit for the Find X10 Pro Max delivers impressive zoom capabilities and high-quality images but comes with practical limitations. Deciding whether to invest in this accessory depends on individual needs and whether it is bundled with the phone at a discount.
