“Trevor, especially,” Dupré added. “Didn’t realize that he would be so well-received.”
The developers revealed that they were not only aware of the potential for this kind of reaction but also encouraged it. Dupré commented on the emotional connection fans have with the characters, stating, “It’s always fun to see the fanart, because we know how important and dear these characters are to the fans.”
Both Dupré and Bordier admitted to deliberately crafting characters with an attractive aesthetic, aiming to please the audience. Bordier explained, “Yes, like we know some characters are hot. It’s a choice, actually. Like it’s a vibe. We’re pretty proud of it.” The team also took pride in the fan reception to character designs and voice actor reveals, which were met with enthusiasm.
“Honestly, we were super happy with all the fan reactions regarding the characters that were revealed,” Bordier added.
