“My channel has been completely deleted, wiping out 10 years of hard work and destroying my main source of income,” J0nathan lamented.
J0nathan’s channel had amassed 190,000 subscribers before its removal, leaving him both financially and emotionally devastated. “I’ve never had any issues with the platform before. No warnings, no strikes, nothing. And yet they just threw me away like I was nothing,” he shared. Despite his attempts to navigate YouTube’s appeal process, he found the responses to be automated and unhelpful, with his first appeal dismissed within minutes.
He expressed frustration over the inconsistency of YouTube’s enforcement, noting that similar uncensored videos remain available on the platform. “How can they possibly uphold such a decision when other videos showing the exact same scene without any censorship are still available on the platform?” he questioned. J0nathan has a secondary channel but hesitates to use it, fearing it could also be banned under YouTube’s policies prohibiting banned users from creating new accounts.
“Beyond losing my income, I’m also losing 10 years of hard work and over 3,000 videos. The emotional impact is huge,” he revealed.
In the wake of the ban, J0nathan has sought support from fellow creators and the game’s developers, hoping their connections with YouTube might help overturn the decision. However, his efforts have so far been ignored. Prior to the game’s release, Saber Interactive advised content creators to utilize age restrictions and labels appropriately, emphasizing the importance of context and intent due to the absence of a “streamer mode.”
