Yea, that Persona 1 remake leaked footage gotta be 100% real. I refuse to believe someone would do that much work to make a fake leak.

Character animations in the video have particularly caught the attention of viewers, especially those of Eriko, who shares a summoning animation with Yukiko from Persona 4 Revival. This similarity, combined with the presence of Persona 2’s protagonist Tatsuya, further fuels speculation. Some argue these elements may simply be placeholders in an unfinished project, while others suggest it might be an elaborate fake.

The debate extends to whether the footage could be a pitch for internal investors rather than an actual game in development. “Persona 1 leak looks credible, not sure why people are reporting Tatsuya is replacing Masao, that’s just complete bogus,” commented another observer, suggesting the presence of Persona 4 Revival animations supports the footage’s authenticity.

Without a clear timeline for when this footage was captured, it remains uncertain whether it represents current development or an older concept. Speculation abounds that it might merely be a proof-of-concept video. Sega has been approached for comment, but no official response has been provided at this time.

If the footage is indeed genuine, its release wouldn’t be entirely unexpected. Sega has been actively revisiting its Persona catalog, having launched a remake of Persona 3 in 2024 and with Persona 4 Revival set for release shortly. Atlus’ P-Studio producer, Kazuhisa Wada, hinted at the possibility of remakes for Persona 1 and 2 earlier this year, describing it as something “we have to do,” fueling anticipation for future announcements.

Atlus has previously dealt with leaks, including an incident in 2023 involving early footage of the Persona 3 remake and a leak of images from the upcoming Persona 6 in June. Additionally, a significant Steam leak in September revealed details, including potential spoilers, for the next installment in the series. As the community waits for official confirmation, the leaked footage continues to stir excitement and debate among Persona fans worldwide.
