“Steve being next to Ben confirms he was edited out of the first trailer.”

The World Series teaser revisited a scene from a new perspective, seemingly confirming that Steve Rogers was indeed the character edited out. The footage showed Rogers alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm, engaging with Scott Lang. This revelation has sparked discussions about Marvel’s motives for initially omitting Rogers, given his known involvement in the film’s storyline.

Adding to the intrigue, some fans speculate that the character wielding Mjolnir might not be Rogers at all. A popular theory posits that it could be Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, disguised as Steve Rogers. This theory gains traction as fans scrutinize Evans’ portrayal, noting subtle inconsistencies in his appearance across scenes. Others argue that the original trailer was never altered, and the new teaser simply offers a different angle of the same scene.

“In the new trailer, I can’t be the only one, Steve’s face or something looks weird like it kept changing in each scene or something else.”

Marvel’s history of manipulating pre-release footage to maintain secrecy is well-documented. Past marketing strategies have included misleading trailers, as seen with “Avengers: Infinity War,” where significant scenes were ultimately excluded from the final cut. This penchant for misdirection leaves fans eager to decipher any potential edits.

As the December 18 release date for “Avengers: Doomsday” approaches, audiences are left to ponder the validity of these theories. Until then, they can anticipate further cast announcements and speculate on the film’s unfolding mysteries. Michael Cripe, a freelance writer for IGN, has been covering these developments and encourages fans to follow his insights on social media.
