Sales of the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are 90% of what the entire iPhone 2025 lineup sold in its first week in China.

Apple’s pricing strategy played a key role in this success. The company raised prices for the 256GB and 512GB models by CNY 1,000 (about $150), while significantly increasing the 1TB and 2TB models by CNY 2,500 and CNY 3,500, respectively. This price adjustment comes despite the use of slower QLC chips.

Internationally, price hikes varied. In China, the 256GB model saw an 11% increase. In the U.S., the price rose by 9%, while in Japan, it jumped by 22%, with the iPhone 18 Pro launching at JPY 219,800, JPY 40,000 more than its predecessor.

The absence of a new vanilla and Air model isn’t hurting Apple’s bottom line, as consumers gravitate towards the Pro versions.

Overall, the iPhone 18 Pro series is off to a strong start in China, with pricing and strategic model offerings driving significant consumer interest.
